SchoolTransit Source procurement notes

Buyer-side notes for defining school bus duty, comparing factory quotation scope and requesting exact-configuration evidence.

Use each note as a decision checklist

Keep the exact vehicle under discussion visible throughout the procurement record. A body-series page may span multiple chassis, wheelbases, seating layouts and powertrains, while a quotation normally addresses one combination.

For used buses, unit identity and condition need VIN-level evidence. Ask for model year, odometer, dated images, title status, service records and an inspection scope; do not treat family literature as proof of one vehicle.

Compare costs on the same quantity, currency, Incoterm and destination. Separate vehicle, options, inspection, inland transport, freight, duty and destination services so scope differences are visible.

Regulatory documents require exact-model and destination review. Articles explain fields to request; they do not prove stock, certification, factory ownership, approval or delivered results.

When a note resolves a requirement, add that decision to the RFQ. When it exposes an unknown, ask the supplier to state the assumption and supporting evidence. The verification page and inquiry form provide the next steps.
